Come up higher: Stillness, Turmoil and the Work of Humanity.
On a quiet holiday morning, stillness can feel like a gift.
There is peace in the air. A sense of rest. A pause.
And yet, even in that stillness, the heart remembers that in other parts of the world there is turmoil, fear, destruction, and loss of life. It is tempting to call ourselves blessed when our corner of the world is calm. But history does not allow us to remain innocent for long. There were times when this very place was marked by suffering, by forced labour, by cruelty, by death. Many suffered here. Many never even made it here.
So the question rises again: what is humanity doing?
Across centuries and continents, the pattern seems painfully familiar. We speak of progress, of civilization, of new eras, and yet violence continues to reappear in different forms and in different places. The names change. The geography shifts. But the human tendency toward destruction remains.
And so we are left wondering whether something deeper is taking place beneath the surface of events.
Perhaps what we are witnessing is not simply social or political upheaval, but a kind of inner and spiritual separation. Not a separation of worth. Not a division between the chosen and the rejected. But a difference in consciousness. A difference in vibration. A difference in the way people are seeing, responding, and participating in life.
Some seem drawn more deeply into fear, anger, hostility, and narrowness.
Others seem to be moving toward stillness, compassion, openness, and a wider vision.
This may help us hear old scriptural language in a fresh way. The image of “one taken and one left” may not be about physical removal at all. It may point instead to a dimensional shift, a vibrational distinction, a divergence in awareness. Two people may stand in the same place, doing the same outward task, while inwardly inhabiting very different worlds.
If that is so, then this moment is not about superiority.
It is not about spiritual specialness.
It is not about escaping others.
It is about concentration for the sake of service.
Those who are being drawn upward are being invited to gather their energy, do their inner work, and become more intentional vessels of healing, clarity, and love for the whole. No one is abandoned. No one is outside the Source. But there is an invitation now to join the deeper work by tending first to the inner life.
The call is simple, though not easy:
Do your work.
Become more still.
See more clearly.
Love more deeply.
Come up higher, not for your own sake alone, but for the sake of the whole.
If this reflection speaks to where you are in your journey, share it with someone who may need encouragement to keep doing the inner work. And wherever you are today, pause, breathe, and hear the invitation again:
Come up higher.
